If your a Doordasher and you just got your first contract violation, you may be worried how long it lasts!
In this article we will answer that question and explain everything you need to know in regards to Doordash contract violations!
Answer To The Question How Long Do Contract Violations Last On Doordash?
If you get a contract violation on Doordash, it takes 100 deliveries for that contract violation to go away. So if you do Doordash every day it shouldn’t be there for very long. However, you need to be careful that you don’t accumulate anymore violations while you’re waiting for your existing ones to go away.
What Exatly Is a Doordash Contract Violation?
There’s two main Doordash contract violations.
Customer Marked Order “never arrived”
If you end up not taking the order for whatever reason, they can mark the order as never arrived which is considered a contract violation.
Extreme Lateness
This is another main contract violation. In this case the Doordasher didn’t deliver the food in the time frame that the customer requested.
Does Restaurant Wait Time Get Included?
When talking about extreme lateness, they do not include restaurant wait time. It’s basically when you get the food and go to take it for delivery. So if the restaurant takes a long time to make the food, you can’t be blamed for it.
If Doordash Drivers Get Flagged For Extreme Lateness, Do They Get Reinstated?
The only way drivers will get reinstated after extreme lateness would be to reach out to Doordash help and explain the situation.
How Many Contract Violations Can Happen Before You Get Deactivated On DoorDash?
In terms of customer service when it comes to Doordash, the number one concern for them is that customers get their food on time. This means that a bunch of “never delivered” violations in a short period of time will get you banned faster than most of the other violations. Doordash seems to be a little more lenient when it comes to extreme lateness, but if you want to keep a good status as a driver try and be on time the best you can!
What Are Some Ways To Avoid Doordash Contract Violations?
If you want to avoid deactivation, there are a couple things you can do to avoid it.
Set up a Dash Cam
If you record your entire shift, you can prove that the customer is wrong if they claim your late.
Don’t Do Doordash and Other Apps At The Same Time
You can do Uber Eats and Doordash at the same time (Here’s an article on that) but if you have any violations and want to avoid more, you should stay away from doing both to avoid deactivation.
Keep Your Ratings High
I haven’t seen much about this but i’m sure if you keep your driver ratings high and you show you’re a trustworthy driver, Doordash will let some violations slide.
If You Do Get Deactivated, How Do You Handle It?
You will get a notification in the app where your ratings are, they will give you an opportunity to answer the violation within the app.
If you can’t find that, when you get deactivated you usually get an email stating the reasons. Within that email, you can write an appeal as to why you shouldn’t have been deactivated.
If you can’t find a deactivation email, it’s good to go to the Doordash website and create a chat with dasher support and figure things out that way.
What Are The Chances You Can Get Reinstated As a Driver?
After going through Reddit and seeing some reasons why people get deactivated, it seems to me like a lot of people who are innocent get accidentally deactivated.
So as long as you prove your innocence, getting reinstated shouldn’t be that hard.
Do Doordash Contract Violations Effect Your Rating?
A positive to getting contract violations is that it doesn’t effect your ratings.
Will Any Features Be Taken Away?
All the normal features you’re used to on the app including fast pay will remain the same. If the violation doesn’t lead to deactivation everything should remain the same within the app.
Other Than Contract Violations What Are Some Other Reasons You May Get Deactivated From Doordash?
Failed Background Check:
Although you passed the first background check to initially become a Doordash driver, Doordash does recurring background checks and if you fail your account can be deactivated.
Some reasons are major moving violations, sexual offenses and other serious felonies.
Getting Caught Eating Or Touching The Food:
I’m sure you’ve seen on the internet various videos of drivers caught eating or even drinking someones drink while delivering.
Don’t be that guy or gal, because if you get caught it could lead to deactivation.
Always Be Kind To Customers:
If you aren’t kind or even end up in an altercation with a customer this could lead to the deactivation of a dasher.
A Lot Of Low Ratings:
Make sure you keep your customer service on point. A lot of low ratings can lead to lead to doordash deactivation.
Completion Rate:
When taking orders, if you accept one always make sure you get the food delivered. Dashers can get deactivated by having a low completion percentage. To Doordashes standards anything above 80% is good.
Anything below this puts you in danger.
Unsafe Driving:
This shouldn’t even be on this list but Doordash will deactivate dashers if they find out they are driving in an unsage fashion.
What Happens If There’s an Emergency On A Delivery?
If you’re unable to bring a delivery because of an emergency, first off get help whether it’s by calling 911 or whatever you need to do.
After you calmed the situation down, you can then message the Doordash support and let them know about your situation. This way you won’t get a violation.
Conclusion:
Now that you know pretty much everything about Doordash contract violations you can now do whatever you can to avoid them.
Keep in mind no matter how hard you try there’s still a chance and it’s important to have a back up plan.
Other Ride Share companies like Uber Eats, Grub Hub, Postmates and other are available in case you get deactivated and can’t get your driving privileges back.
