Can Fiverr Be a Full-Time Job?

When it comes to freelancing, there are a lot of options out there. But if you’re looking to make a full-time income, can Fiverr really be the answer?

The short answer is yes, Fiverr can be a full-time job. However, it does come with its challenges. Some of these challenges include building your account up and getting the ratings necessary to make a full-time income. But if you’re dedicated and willing to put in the work, Fiverr can be a great way to make a living.

Below we will go over what you need to do to make a full-time living on Fiverr.

Building Your Account

The first and most important step is to build up your account. This means creating gigs that are high quality and appealing to buyers. You should also take the time to create a professional profile and portfolio. This will help you attract more buyers and land more orders.

It’s important to use good SEO on your gig titles and descriptions. This will help you rank higher in the search results and get more views.

In the beginning, you should also consider promoting your gigs with Fiverr ads. This will allow you to get more exposure and land more orders.

Getting Good Ratings

This next step is just as important. Your ad money or organic SEO strategies won’t mean anything if you can’t deliver quality work that buyers are happy with.

Make sure you’re always delivering quality work and going above and beyond for your buyers. This will help you get positive reviews and ratings.

High reviews and ratings will ensure that your account get’s pushed more on Fiverr, which will lead to more orders and ultimately, more income.

You May Need To Start By Offering Less Money For Good Services

One thing to keep in mind is that you may need to start by offering less money for your services. This is especially true if you’re just starting out.

Offering lower prices can help you attract buyers and get some initial reviews and ratings. Once you have a few good reviews, you can start raising your prices.

This means that patience is one of the best qualities you can have when trying to make a full-time income on Fiverr.

Look At Fiverr Buyer Requests

Since things may be a little slow at first, using Fiverr buyer requests is a great way to get orders and build up your account.

Buyer requests are essentially job postings from buyers who are looking for someone to do a specific task. You can browse through these requests and send offers to the ones that you’re qualified to do.

Not only is this a great way to get orders, but it’s also a great way to build up your portfolio quickly.

Diversify Your Freelancing Opportunities

I do Fiverr and Upwork, and although Fiverr is good because of the traffic that comes to you, I’ve found it easier to just go and apply to as many jobs as possible.

I’ve also found that a lot of clients on Fiverr are looking for one-time services, so if you’re looking to establish long-term relationships with clients, you may want to consider other freelancing platforms like Upwork.

For example, I got a writing job a couple of months ago through Upwork that is now constant work for me every single month.

The Upside Of Fiverr

Although Upwork is better for people who would like to go after it faster, Fiverr, once you get it going can be scaled.

If you get good enough at a specific skill, you can eventually start charging a lot more.

Once you do this you could start hiring other people to do the work for you who charge less than you.

Let’s use writing as an example (because this is what I do). Let’s say you get to the point of charging people $100 per 1000 words. You can then hire someone to do the work for $20-$30 per 1000 words and make the difference.

You can eventually build a team and not have to write at all. Just make sure the quality stays good and give them an outline of what you expect them to do.

In Summary

Although it may take a little while to get going, making a full-time living on Fiverr is possible.

You need to make sure you’re doing a few things:

  • Building up your account
  • Getting good ratings
  • Looking at Fiverr buyer requests
  • Diversifying your freelancing opportunities

Once you do these things, you’ll be well on your way to making a full time income!
